Mihai Pop

Pop's expertise is in metagenomics, genome assembly and high-performance and high-throughput biocomputing. He expects to work closely with UMB scientists and clinicians in areas related to drug resistance for serious diseases like tuberculosis, malaria and staph infections. Using clinical-based information from the UMB's School of Medicine and other sources, Pop will sequence data to build predictive models of drug resistance in a wide variety of infectious organisms.
