Research Interests:

Working with colleague Catherine Plasaint, Shneiderman develops visualization technology used by clinical researchers and others to characterize the nature and frequency of medication use. It allows clinicians to visualize and search exposure intervals, look at concomitant exposures and reveal potential drug-to-drug (or drug-to-procedure) interactions that cause an acute event. Current collaborations include working with federal scientists and others to study temporal patterns of drug prescriptions and acute events in clinical trial patients receiving anticoagulants.
